Will it work with my pet's food?
Steady Bowl is built for dry kibble. It doesn't handle wet or raw food, and very small or oddly shaped kibble can occasionally bridge in the hopper. If that's what your pet eats, message us before you order — we'd rather tell you honestly whether it'll flow well than process a return.
What happens if the power goes out?
It runs on the mains with battery backup, so the schedule keeps ticking through a short outage. We still recommend keeping fresh batteries in it as a safety net — a feeder is only worth having if you can trust it while you're away.
Can I still feed by hand when I want to?
Of course. There's a manual button for a top-up or a treat, and you can pause the schedule any time. It's there to make mealtimes easier, not to take them away from you.
Will it overfeed or jam?
Each meal is measured to the portion you set, so it won't keep dumping food. The dispenser is designed to resist clogging, but no feeder is completely jam-proof with every shape of kibble — round, uniform pieces flow best.
How do I clean it?
Lift out the bowl and the grain tray and wash them in warm, soapy water, then let them dry fully before refilling.
One thing to note: don't submerge the base or the motor — wipe those down with a damp cloth only.
